Mission of the Foundation

The William Arthur Dutton Memorial Foundation is a non-profit, 501 -C3, entity that is dedicated to the preservation of some of the most important attributes of the United States. The saving of the American Mustang horses, as well as the rehabilitation of other types of horses, as well as the rehabilitation needs of another sometimes forgotten resource, our U.S. Armed Forces Veterans. Not forgotten by those who love them, but sometimes by those in society who have never been involved with the military, or committed to supporting them.

We believe that any veteran who is in need of help to get on their feet should be able to do so with the same pride they had when they served in the uniform of their country. So, we greet them with open arms and we put them to work on a ranch, the Rockin' W Ranch of Blanchard, where God's creatures need their help as much as they need the animals. This is done through what is becoming known today as Equine Therapy, and Canine Therapy.

About the Namesake of WADMF

WADMF is named after William Arthur Dutton Jr. A U.S. Navy Veteran who served during both WWII, and Korea, aboard a navy destroyer, the U.S.S. Darby. Upon leaving the U.S. Navy, Bill went on to lead an exciting life doing pretty much whatever he wanted to do in life, firstly he got his pilot's license, all the while he was also wing-walking on the top of a biplane, and then eventually becoming an airline pilot for Pacific Southwest Airlines, retiring from U.S. Airways. He, in his life as a pilot, amassed over 30,000 hours of flight time before he earned his final wings to heaven in 2022.

Bill's memory continues on with his three daughters, Janet Corson, Sherilee Cochran, and Shannon White, and his 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren as of 2022.

Saving Mustangs

Anytime we get a chance to save an American Mustang, we do it. They are a fading legacy of our nation that needs to be preserved.

Equine Therapy

Pairing a veteran with a horse who needs help is one of the best ways of bringing about great change, spiritually and other ways.

Vocational Rehab

As part of the program, we offer vocational rehabilitation through skills training, and online training, or for those veterans who want to attend online education we have a computer lab set up to provide the needed connections.

Pest Control

Welding

Ferrying

and more.

Veteran Assistance

In addition to the on-site assistance we provide, veterans are also assisted with applying for their benefits by shuttling the veterans to Veteran's Corner in Newcastle , Oklahoma. There the veteran is linked up with Veteran Service Officers to help the Veteran navigate the paperwork to obtain the benefits they rightly deserve.

The foundation also provides annual educational scholarships to the veteran(s) in the program who are selected by the directors.

The Bunkhouse Program: Housing for qualified Veterans.

One of the goals of WAMF is to provide short-term housing for Veterans who are homeless or in need of short-term assistance to get back on their feet. No Veteran should be out in the cold, or harsh summers of Oklahoma. At the moment we have purchased one bunk house and are slowly getting the utilities run. We would like to thank those who have donated their time and materials to the word that has been completed thus far.
